Another woman said on a Friday afternoon she had back pain that got increasingly painful,and that she was to perform in a concert on Saturday.  She asked her husband to pray for her and she had a quick healing.

An individual remarked how her family recently moved to Victoria and were celebrating a new experience at Christmas.  She had her parents visiting and wanted to change their Christmas traditions by doing a special event that the entire family could enjoy.

Another individual said how much she loved celebrating the Christmas season. She looks forward to seeing her daughter’s family visit, and then she and her husband visit their son and his family.

Prayer & Share meeting

Inspirations and physical healing were shared. Here is a partial summary of what individuals shared.

1 A gentleman enjoyed studying the Kings James version of the Bible.

2 A new comer appreciates attending the Christian Science Church Services .

3 A women was called about some relatives having a relationship problem. She prayed about harmony and her fondness for the couple. She was later informed that the relationship improved.

4 An individual mentioned the importance of prayer for safety for the welfare of everyone when he travels.

5 Someone said they attended a Christian Science lecture entitled God’s Law Not Chance Governs and how the lecture reminded her to trust Gods protection and safety for herself and others.

6 An individual mentioned that studying Psalms 35 verse 5 is one of her favorite Bible verses.

• A woman shared how inspired she was by another senior woman’s prayers which enabled her to stand up for what she felt was a right action.
• A man thanked those present at the meeting for their support at last week’s meeting, his spirit was lifted while at the meeting and in the week since then.
• A participant commented on the readings that were just heard, and loves the concept of Church that Mary Baker Eddy provides in her writings, because it is such an expansive view of church, that includes every aspect of one’s life, not just when sitting or working for church.
• Someone else shared how wonderful she felt when she listened with her heart when in conversation with an old friend.
• A woman shared how physical conditions changed for the better for her unborn baby as she prayed with a Christian Science healer. She shared some of the inspirations that she prayed with.
• A man shared how one day he just needed a sign from God  – that God was there helping him know what he needed to know or do . The man looked around and saw a license plate that said – “mol ove.”

• Gratitude for the wonderful events over the last weekend at the church. One talk she attended focused on a passage in Galations called the “Fruits of the Spirit.” (Galations 5:22) “The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfullnes, gentleness, and self-control.” She saw these fruits spilling out over the weekend.
• Inspired moments over a coffee chat. Life changing insight for her into the meaning of Jesus being tempted in the wilderness. –He was having his identity challenged. She realized she was going through the same thing. But now knew how to handle it with prayer like Jesus.
• Gratitude for signs of God’s presence.  Special animal sighted at just the meaningful moment. Ideas were received well. Being in the right place.
• Prayer on a road trip. Prayer to keep all people and animals safe. All in harmony. No road kill was seen on this long trip!
• “Life without love” someone shared, “was not worth it.” And then a sign of assurance that love was present and all around.  “I’m on the right path” he said!
• A woman shared lessons in inter-faith dialogue.  “I’m here to love” she said.

• A father relates healings from his children’s growing up years:

• instantaneous healing of pink eye
• instantaneous healing of childhood chicken pox
• instantaneous healing of bloody fractured head injury

A meaningful quote for him over the years is from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: “Matter disappears under microscope of Spirit.”

• A remote listner expressed gratitude for all the love expressed to her from others during a recent visit. Also fear of a long drive has turned into rejoicing during the drive. Prayer has meet the need.  And she loves to call in and listen to the meeting over the phone.

• A new reader of the book Science and Health prayfully applied for the first time what he was learning about God and creation , and his spouse’s misplaced items were found quickly.

• An experienced healer shared that it is also important to give voice to the little healings we have: a change of thought, a turning to God. For her someones comment to her to “see value in ourself” made all the difference to her at a very difficult and challenging time in her life.

• Spiritual qualities are like an artist’s palette. You can paint your day with colourful love, patience, youthful innocence.

• When one woman was having difficulty selling her business (no expressions of interest in a year) a friend told her it was not her business! It was God’s business, it has been blessing her and others and it will continue to do so. Two weeks later she was contacted by someone who eventually bought the business.

• A fear of flying has turned from crying the whole flight, now to peaceful calm during flights. All from prayer.

• Another woman also spoke about flying only a month after 9/11. A man from the Middle East was her seat mate. She had to challenge the fear she was feeling when he kept looking to the back of the plane. She prayed a prayer called “A mother’s evening prayer” that speaks about a gentle presence. Then so she decided to talk to him. They talked much of the way, and about many things dear to the heart of each of them. At the end he said he really loved the conversation, it was like being with his mother. He gave her his business card, which she gave to her son-in-law and it turned out this was a business contact that he had been hoping to make.

• a short video on Global Truce 2011-2012
• time for individual silent prayer in support of peace for the world; Lord’s Prayer
• access to inspirational print and online materials
• Let there be peace on earth hymn sung to the community from the front steps of the church
• short readings from the Bible and Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy
• a sharing of our prayers, inspirations, and healing experiences (sharing is voluntary)

Background Information:

On September 21,  2011, begins a  365-day countdown to Peace Day 2012, a day of which the Peace One Day (POD) initiative is calling for and working towards a Global Truce – a day of ceasefire and non-violence observed by all sectors of society globally. To this end POD is engaged in an extensive diplomatic and grassroots communications exercise. POD hopes this will be the largest reduction in global violence in recorded history, both domestically and internationally.

For a Global Truce to truly work, people need sufficient time to prepare. And so POD is officially launching the 365-day countdown to the Global Truce at our first concert in conjunction with the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad at the O2 Arena London on Peace Day 21 September 2011. Representatives from diverse sectors of society will be present to pledge their commitment and inspire others to join.
